|
Father Francis of the Cross Jordan founded the Society and Congregation of the Divine Savior (1881). The Ministry Team is named after him because it wishes to implement his founding vision of empowering lay Catholics to join diocesan clergy in promoting the education of youth, assisting in the Church’s life and ministry at the parish level and in promoting the Christian message of the saving and healing power of Jesus the Divine Savior in this world by all ways and means possible. Father Francis Jordan founded the Salvatorians in Rome in 1881. Jordan saw the Church as a “discipleship of equals,” and his foundation consisted of priests, brothers, sisters and lay members working side by side, using all the ways and means which the love of Christ inspired. Today, Salvatorians minister in 28 countries, responding to the signs of the times and striving to be a prophetic voice of renewal in the Church and the world. Salvatorians seek to fulfill their mission by being one with those they serve, manifesting to the world the goodness and kindness of our Savior. |
