The Season of Lent: Praying in the Desert

This Lenten mini-retreat explores the life and mission of Jesus according to the spiritual vision of the priest and missionary Blessed Charles de Foucauld. Join as us we explore the meaning of Jesus’ hidden life in Nazareth and what it means to “stay awhile” in the desert, helping us rediscover the meaning of faithful discipleship as we celebrate the Season of Lent.

Aging and Spirituality Mini-Retreat 

Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 9:00 to 11:00 am 

Santa Catalina Catholic Church, Tucson
God never stops calling us into a deeper relationship. The movement into the status of an “elder” can be filled with apprehension as well as hope. This time of life calls for a renewed, and even reimagined spirituality. While there are challenges, there are unique gifts as well. With visual images, poetry, and music this mini-retreat will open up the opportunities present in this rich time of life.

Mary in the Life of the Church  

May 8, 15, and 22, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm  

This three-part series, led by Bro. Silas Henderson, SDS, will explore the place that Mary, Mother of Jesus, holds in the life of the Church. The first session explores Mary's place in Sacred Scripture. While the second session explores the Catholic Church's four Marian dogmas, the third session explores Mary's place in the Church's prayer and devotion. This series provides participants a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the special devotion that Roman Catholics have for the Mary and also offers opportunities for discussion, prayer, and faith-sharing.
